Van Ness Feldman continues to provide legal and strategic advice to two Toyota subsidiaries on issues related to the implementation of and compliance with the very complex set of federal fuel economy/greenhouse gas rules for Model Year through 2025, as well as California’s Zero Emission Vehicle sales mandate rules that apply in that state, as well as ten other states. Van Ness Feldman works closely with Toyota’s legal and engineering staff as the company develops its plans for compliance with these two programs that go to the heart of Toyota’s future products planning. In addition, Van Ness Feldman provides advice to Toyota on a wide variety of day-to-day issues the company faces in implementing vehicle emissions standards, fuel economy standards, and production facility compliance issues under the federal Clean Air Act.
