Former Senior Government Official and Corporate Executive Joins Van Ness Feldman's Public Policy Practice

Van Ness Feldman is pleased to announce that James W. (Jim) Ziglar, Sr. has joined the firm’s Washington office as Senior Counsel.  Mr. Ziglar’s distinguished public service career includes positions as Sergeant at Arms of the U.S. Senate, Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Water and Science, Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and Law Clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Harry A. Blackmun.

Mr. Ziglar’s corporate experience includes most recently serving as President and CEO of Cross Match Technologies; sixteen years as a public finance investment banker, eleven of which were as a Managing Director and Chief Business Strategist at PaineWebber (now UBS) in New York; and eight years as a practicing lawyer.  He holds a Bachelors degree from George Washington University, and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.  Mr. Ziglar serves and has served on numerous boards of organizations focused on environmental, infrastructure and resource development, and health care and security issues.

At Van Ness Feldman, Mr. Ziglar will provide the firm’s clients with the benefit of his extensive experience with public policy and transactional matters involving public and corporate finance, natural resources, and public infrastructure development.  He also will counsel with clients on homeland security and health care issues.
