Van Ness Feldman Advises Blackstone on Regulatory Issues Associated with Potential $2 Billion Equity Investment in the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project

Van Ness Feldman is advising Blackstone Energy Partners L.P. (Blackstone) on federal regulatory issues associated with its potential $2 billon investment in Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P.  Blackstone’s equity investment would fund, among other things, Cheniere’s development and construction of the Sabine Pass liquefaction project at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal.  Sabine Pass was the first, and to date only, entity to receive authority from the Department of Energy (DOE) to export LNG from the lower 48 states to non-Free Trade Agreement countries. The Van Ness Feldman team, which is counseling Blackstone on DOE export authorization and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission certificate matters associated with the Sabine Pass liquefaction project, is led by Jay Ryan, John Burnes, and Janna Chesno and supported by Members John Buchovecky, Robert Christin, Lisa Epifani, and Peg Moore; Of Counsel, Mona Tandon; Associates Emily Pitlick and Sharon White; and Senior Energy Analysts Steve Baruch and Larry Inouye.
