Van Ness Feldman Names Sharon White to Of Counsel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Van Ness Feldman LLP is pleased to announce that Sharon White been named Of Counsel to the firm. 

Ms. White is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.  She represents a broad range of clients on issues relating to the regulation of hydroelectric projects, including providing counsel on licensing and environmental matters affecting energy development.  Ms. White is one of the leaders of the firm’s hydropower practice, and actively participates in professional organizations such as the National Hydropower Association and the American Bar Association, where she serves as Vice Chair for Year in Review - Hydro Committee in the Section on the Environment, Energy and Resources.

Ms. White joined the firm 15 years ago as a legal assistant and has risen through the ranks at Van Ness Feldman, serving as a paralegal and law clerk focusing on hydroelectric relicensing and electric practice issues, prior to law school.  Her extensive work with the hydroelectric industry includes preparing amicus curiae briefs before several U.S. Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court, and representing a large group of hydroelectric licensees in challenges to federal agencies’ annual charges for costs incurred in administering Part I of the Federal Power Act. Complementing her hydroelectric practice, Sharon also assists electric industry clients on issues relating to the development and acquisition of power projects, reactive power rates, market-based rate authorizations, and related regulatory compliance.
