Steve provides strategic transactional and litigation support to both public and private sector clients in the firm's core practice areas of real estate, land use, and environmental law. He regularly counsels municipal entities on operational compliance and liability issues, new project permitting and environmental review, and water resource law (including water rights disputes/transactions and supply planning).
Prior to joining the firm, Steve served as a legal clerk at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General, Department of Ecology. While in law school, Steve was a recipient of the prestigious Dow Sustainability Fellowship, where along with an interdisciplinary graduate-level team, drafted a floodplain overlay district ordinance and collaborated with the City of Ann Arbor to produce a white paper describing potential floodplain regulatory changes.
Steve was a Div-I athlete on Stanford University’s wrestling team and continues to mentor high school wrestlers as a volunteer assistant coach.
