Van Ness Feldman represents the University of Washington, a state agency, in land use and real estate transactions that range from relatively simple leases to complex transactions such as those related to the construction of SR-520, a $4 billion highway expansion in and around the Seattle campus.  The firm works with the University in effecting various property transfers, a revised grant designation, and numerous easements between the UW, the Washington Department of Transportation, and the City of Seattle, to facilitate the property acquisition for construction of SR-520 and in the use of conservation easement for the creation of wetland mitigation on campus.  The firm also represents the University in campus master planning, contamination cleanup, and real estate matters for gift properties in Seattle, Tacoma and other University locations.
