On April 16, the Department of Energy issued a draft loan guarantee solicitation making approximately $4 billion in loan guarantee authority available for innovative renewable energy and energy efficiency projects located in the U.S. that avoid, reduce, or sequester greenhouse gases. DOE has initiated a 30-day public comment period (comments due by May 16, 2014) to solicit feedback on the solicitation and will take additional comments during a series of 4 public meetings as noted on the Department’s website. Potential applicants may consider filing comments on the draft regarding any matter currently contained in the solicitation that affects their decision to seek a loan guarantee.
